My Story

Hello beautiful curlfriends!

My name is Meg Walz and my brand is Curlfriend Luxury Hair Studio. 

I am an entrepreneur, curly hair specialist, independent curly hair educator, and straight hair stylist.

Hair has always been more than "just hair" to me. It is my passion. It has been a way to connect with people and the gateway to building so many meaningful relationships with a diverse group of people.

Teaching curlfriends and hairstylists how to care for natural hair, understand, embrace, and love their curls is at the forefront of what I do as a curly hair specialist. My passion for curls comes from being a curly person myself who struggled with loving my own hair for a long time, and my very long journey of learning how to appreciate, take care of, and maintain my hair.

When I pursued being a hairstylist, I knew from the very beginning that I wanted to be a stylist who could help people with curly hair learn how to dig deeper into figuring out their own unique and beautiful hair.

Along with working behind the chair, I am an independent curly hair educator that is trying to teach the importance of being all inclusive in schools and salons.

My inspiration for curls comes from fashion, music, art, and pop culture. I love my two Goldendoodles, the ocean, thrift shopping, hiking, anything travel related, and coffee.

I am a big hair nerd. I love to take hair and business classes to keep me on top of my game behind the chair and teaching.
